These pop ups are really, really annoying. It’s great that there are free e-books, but the pop ups are ruining your very interesting site. I’ve worked in website design and digital marketing and you are doing yourselves no favours.

Hey, Do you have P& ID for the process using food-waste as feedstock ? Also the chemical reactions to be accounted for doing the material balance in the process ?

  4. Frank Martin November 21, 2016 at 10:01 pm #

P&IDs (Process and Instrumentation Diagrams) are not something which can normally be provided, as far as I am aware, at the level of detail which includes the material balances for “food waste”. That would be too general a waste type, and varies in its composition too greatly. To be of use, P&IDs are normally only worked up to that level of detail for specific projects once a process designer has been appointed. There are however, process diagrams available on the internet which show general process concepts. Please tell us more about your project and we may be able to assist. Are you at the stage of needing a AD Plant process designer?

Whilst your video & short report are commendable to promote the technology, it is incorrect to say the proven technology has been accepted generally. Just been present at the ISABEL conference and seen & heard and excellent presentation by Marco Segreto,
National Research Council of Italy on how they are overcoming the significant public objections to proposals and fear of AD. Also, a reassuring comment about protection against the minimal number of continuing plant disaters would show honest appraisal.

in the process of water based biogas purification, co2 is dissolved in water , how can we capture co2 and how can we store the co2. Can we make ice cubes from co2 ?

I really don’t know the answer to that question. Can a reader of this comment help?

I am looking for book on different models for anaerobic digestion of sludge.

    • biogasman January 27, 2020 at 10:05 am #

I am not sure what you mean by different models. Do you mean different process (types of AD process) models, or different models from manufacturers as you might choose say when buying a car?

    • biogasman February 6, 2020 at 11:02 pm #

I assume you refer to sewage sludge, when you say sludge? I don’t think I have ever found a book which describes the different methods for sewage sludge treatment overall. But, all the sewage sludge plants I know use a CSTR. The clever part is to choose the best “model” of sewage sludge pre-treatment to get the most biogas out of the sludge as quickly as possible. I suggest you channel your research into sewage sludge pre-treatment technologies such as hydrolysis, extrusion, ultrasonic pre-treatment all these being methods to break up the tough cell walls so that the digester microorganisms can utilise the released cell contents.
