Biomass Energy Sources

While thinking about biomass feedstocks for anaerobic digestion plants it is worth considering the following table of biomass resource categories, from a US report entitled, “BIOMASS AS FEEDSTOCK FOR A BIOENERGY AND BIOPRODUCTS INDUSTRY: THE TECHNICAL FEASIBILITY OF A BILLION-TON ANNUAL SUPPLY”.

Watch our video in which Steve Last
presents his view of the above table and
suggests another very large biomass source which is just
waiting to be tapped on our doorsteps (or just outside them!).

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the United States Department of Energy (DOE) place high importance on developing resources and conversion technologies for producing fuels, chemicals and power from biomass. The two departments have been working together on several aspects of bioenergy.
